On our latest episode of the Stylish Study show we talked about how you can get ahead and get everything done ready for the next school year.
Find your specifications
One of the easiest ways to get higher grades is to revise and learn directly from the specification. A specification details everything that the exam board is marking you on, so if you know everything on the spec then you have the potential to get full marks for knowledge. (Some exam boards have knowledge as one of their assessment objectives) Specifications are really easy to find online and in our ebook (linked here) we have a guide to help you find the specification for your course.
Have a clear out to prep for next year
During the year we all accumulate a huge amount of paper that clutters up our desks and folders. Get rid of extra information that you do not need, clear everything out, and start organising your notes. When you open your folder, it needs to be of an exam, not of a subject. And that will help you to categorise and get ready for the exam game.
Plan what you need to do over the holidays
What assignments do you need to do?
What do you need to catch up on?
What did you struggle with this school year that you can revise/relearn?
Summer is the perfect time to catch up on everything so you can get ahead BUT MAKE SURE YOU AREN’T DOING TOO MUCH WORK. The summer is for fun so you need to spread things out so you don't leave it to the last minute, that way you wont stress yourself out at the end of the summer and can go back to school feeling ready for all the work you will be set.
You can schedule your work by creating weekly to do lists so you can manage your tasks into a must-do, could-do list.
Volunteering
Summer is the best time to do some volunteering as you don’t have a lot of responsibilities. There are so many places you can volunteer at, so find something you enjoy and can commit to.
From everyone here at Stylish Study we hope you have an amazing summer and we can’t wait to help you in the membership next year!
Happy Summer
