Small habits for BIG success (with Julia Sinclair)

On our latest podcast episode we spoke to the amazing Julia who shared with us how she dealt with trauma, her experience with therapy, and how small habits like waking up at 5am have helped her to achieve success.

In January 2018 Julia’s Dad died and she knew that she had to have some serious therapy. Through therapy she learnt about self-sabotage, procrastination, your dark side and what causes these things.

Julia developed the Sync method to overcome these issues and turn her life around. Now, she teaches her students how to live a more successful life, implementing small habits for big success. We have been lucky enough to talk to Julia on the podcast but she has created an AWESOME bundle of videos & worksheet inside the Stylish Study Membership to help guide you through from start to finish on exactly how to decide which habits work for you, how to implement them, why to implement them & how to step into your future self. It's packed with such amazing value that I cannot wait for you to unlock.

It is so important to get systems in place that help with your mental health when you’re younger because it will help you so much when you are older. These systems include habits, if you can get some of these boundaries and disciplines, you will have the life you want in 10 or 20 years’ time because you will start the work today.

Why is it important to have habits?

Just doing little things, Julia was able to lift herself out of this dark, unproductive phase into making small steps towards success. It doesn’t matter how big or small that success is. All your brain understands is, “this was good, and we achieved this, and we can do more of this”

Put small things in place that lead to your big goals. Small steps towards a big goal is essential to achieving success. You are putting down a brick every day, so at the end of 10 year you are going to have a house because you put a brick down every day. You might not see the results in a day, a week, a month or even a year but one day in the future you are doing realise how because you took action now, you have managed to achieve goals and live a life you could never have imagined before.

For example, want to learn a new language? Start by doing 5 minutes a day, make that a habit and then gradually start increasing your daily language learning time

By starting out small, you can not only make your big goals seem less daunting but you can make a bit of progress at day, that way no matter how unmotivated you are, you are still making progress. EVERYONE can fit 5 minutes of a productive habit in and that way even if you get nothing else done in that day, you have still progressed towards your goals.

Healthy habits depend on what works for you and where you are today. Healthy habits mean that you have to be intuitive and you have to listen to your body. Don’t let other people tell you what your health habits are, you have to think about what is realistic for you, is it something you can do daily without fail and what is the purpose of this habit. Once you have figured that out you are on your way to creating healthy habits that work for you.

Ask yourself what you can do today for your future self and just take it one day at a time. Lay the foundations of what you want, be detailed imagine all aspects of your future self and take one step today towards this.

We hope that todays blog post has given you the motivation you need to start taking those first steps towards your goals today.
