The third lockdown has inevitably hit everyone harder than ever.
With the prolonged return to normality, motivation has reached an all-time low.
We however, must persevere.
We still have continued deadlines to reach and classes to attend. It is, therefore, crucial to find ways to maintain enthusiasm in these unfamiliar circumstances.
Stylish Study places a large emphasis on the importance of mental health. Conscious of the
fact that a toxic work mentality can overwhelm us and do more harm than good.
Overworking yourself is not healthy and will end in a mental crash from exhaustion. Whilst it
is important to persist in your efforts, there is a point when this can go too far. Likely, your
work isn’t as strictly scheduled as before, to prevent wearing yourself out it can be helpful to
timetable your day.
As well as timetabling your workload it is essential to schedule some time for self-care. Be
that some light exercise, skincare, or simply making your bed. Self-care is equally as
productive as your studies. It is not likely that you will reach your full potential unless you
are taking care of yourself. Taking out this extra time in your day to prioritise this will
position you in a more positive mindset which will prompt you to work more efficiently
concerning your studies. Some YouTubers portray a healthy balance between study and self,
such as Nayna Florence and Tia Dewitt.
Focusing on the individual days will prevent you from becoming overwhelmed by the bigger
picture. The uncertainty of the current circumstances means that it is best to only take one
day at a time. Start each day with a to-do list and focus on just 3 main priorities.
Take full control, because it is likely that you may feel out of control of many other
aspects of life now. Fill your to-do list with both study-related tasks and self-care related
tasks. You will then be able to ensure that you are fulfilling both aspects within your day.
Use this post as a reminder that any progress is pushing you closer to your end goal.
Although this is the third national lockdown, it does not mean that you should
be used to or flourishing within it. It is not ideal, but it is necessary.
Be proud of yourself knowing that you have persevered during these times.
