On Episode 2 of our stylish study show we discussed how to get out of your own way for EPIC SUCCESS. If you missed that episode (you can catch up here!) or need a refresh, in today’s blog post we will be sharing with you the ways we can improve our mindset in order to become more successful.
Mindset is EVERYTHING when it comes to being more successful and having a better outlook. So many of us doubt ourselves, and don’t believe in ourselves. But if you believe in yourself, you live in a different way and start acting with confidence.
One of the biggest reasons preventing us from believing in ourselves is ourselves. We are getting in our own way, preventing us from ever achieving our success.
You can get better results if you start believing now. Don’t spend your time worrying and doubting yourself. Things get easier when you have that mindset shifts - things start to flow better. Mindset shifts can help us to visualise and see our true potential. Think back to the last time you told yourself you could do it or believed in yourself, you probably found it easier to carry out your day.
You need to stop:
Wasting your energy
Putting barriers up in your head
Giving up
Living in fear
Having negative thoughts
But that sounds hard right? Why bother changing your mindset when it seems impossible to stop some of the things above? Well, while changing your mindset might be hard at first, when you have changed your mindset you will be making a lasting impact on your future success.
You need to be persistent and faithful. Successful people don’t give up when it gets hard and you need to replicate their attitude. I am sure that you have heard of the typical examples of people who didn’t give up and there is a clear reason for this; if you give up every time it gets hard then you are forever going to be stuck in your comfort zone.
Employ positive affirmation to yourself about how amazing you are, that you are confident and can achieve the things you want in life. You can start by simply telling yourself ‘you can do it’, ‘you are smarter than you think’ before an exam, before tackling a difficult task. When you first start using affirmations, it can feel weird and stupid but I can assure you that it will give you a boost of confidence when you are feeling overwhelmed.
Another method you can use when trying to shift your mindset is visualisation. You can do this in a number of ways, by making a vision board, imagining your self achieving your dreams. When you visualise, it provides a boost of motivation and confidence. Treat the negative thoughts in your mind as motivation and focus on visualising yourself. If you ignore the negative thoughts it makes everything you find hard so much less overwhelming.
